John Roy Williams

John Roy Williams, 64, RD 4, Meadville, died at his home in Vernon Township, Thursday afternoon, March 6, 1969, after an illness of five months.

He was born at Geneva, April 27, 1904, a son of Emory and Nettie Mae McKnight Williams. He married Helen M. Saunders, November 5, 1921.

Mr. Williams was a retired locomotive engineer for the Erie Lackawanna Railroad Co. and was a member of Vernon Central Volunteer Fire Department, Eagles Lodge and Company 68 of the State Police of Erie and Crawford Counties.

Surviving are his widow; four daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Dora Mae) Johnson of RD 1, Jamestown; Mrs. Tony (Harriet) Luciani of RD 2, Greenville; Mrs. Richard (Mary Ellen) Winkler and Mrs. Gaylord (Gladys Arlene) Henderson, both of RD 4, Meadville; two sons, Emory LeRoy of RD 1, Greenville, and Paul Arthur of RD 4, Meadville; his mother, Mrs. Nettie Bush of Greenville; a sister, Mrs. Addie Benninger of Greenville, 22 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Graham Funeral Home, Sheakleyville, where services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The Rev. H. A. Markell, pastor of Hadley Wesleyan Methodist Church, will officiate.
