James Emerson Williams

James Emerson Williams, 65, of 1411 Hazelwood Lane, Bethlehem, died Wednesday, June 22, 1977, at St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem, where he had been a patient for 12 days.

He was born at Meadville, January 30, 1912, a son of Emery and Nettie Mae McKnight Williams. He married Dortha Mae Seeley on August 16, 1930.

Mr. Williams was a retired meat merchandiser and was in the retail grocery business for most of his life.

He was a member of the Calvary Wesleyan Church of Bethlehem, Masonic Lodge 408 of Meadville, the Scottish Rite Consistory of Erie and the BPO Elks Lodge Y222 of Norwich, N.Y.

Survivors, in addition to his widow, include three sons, James O. of Mercer, A. Keith of Syracuse, N.Y., and Timothy L., stationed with the U.S. Navy in California; one sister, Mrs. Addie Spargo Benninger of Marion, Indiana; one brother, Paul of Allegheny, N.Y.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. A brother, Roy, preceded him in death.

Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home, 699 E. State St., Sharon, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday.
