Sheriff Ripley and Deputy Sheriff Bauman of Lyon County broke up a liquor party, Aug. 8, on the banks of the Sioux River near Beloit and arrested four men, all of whom pleaded guilty before Justice Foote at Inwood. J. E. Robbins and son, Kenneth Robbins, and Ed Mullenix were assessed heavy on charges of intoxication and driving a car without a license. The fourth man in the party, Hugh Rhead, was sentenced to thirty days in the Osceola County jail on the charge of intoxication.
